Darren Waller Retires From NFL After Eight Seasons

Giants Tight End Announces Decision in YouTube Video

Wallers Career Ends After Three Seasons in New York

Former New York Giants tight end Darren Waller announced his retirement from football on Sunday. The 31-year-old made the announcement in a lengthy YouTube video, in which he said decided after pulling through a near-death experience. Waller spent eight seasons in the NFL, including the last three with the Giants.

Waller finishes his career with 348 receptions for 4,834 yards and 32 touchdowns. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 2019 while playing for the Raiders. Waller's best season came in 2020 when he had 107 receptions for 1,196 yards and 9 touchdowns.

Waller's retirement is a significant loss for the Giants, who were hoping to add him to their offense. However, it is understandable given his recent health issues. Waller had several concussions during his career and he said he is retiring to focus on his health and family.
